- PHP and images
- A new article over on evolt covers the ”storage and re-use of images using PHP/GD”. This should be very useful when used in conjunction with the CMS articles I linked to earlier.
- I hereby claim this idea!
- Eating dinner with a friend last night I hit upon what we both decided would be a great idea. Talk had turned to drinking and beer—as it often does with us—and how only a few places served some of the more obscure imports. So, I... full entry
- New features here
- Just a couple of quick notes. First, there’s now a search feature available for the weblog, courtesy of MT-Search. I can’t get it to work with the main navbar to the right (yet), but searching is functional. Second, the site now makes use of a... full entry
- Some people are just dumb
- Sometimes I wish natural selection would work more quickly. We’d sure be better off if we didn’t have so many dumb people around. (Incidentally, I got my degree at Texas A&M, very near the story.)
- Those crazy NASA guys
- Ah, the fun those zany NASA guys sometimes have. I used to want to be an astronaut (not that I’d turn it down now...) myself. Then I’d get to play with exploding waterballoons in space like these guys. Okay, so it was just in the... full entry
- Episode II… as good as the hype?
- Hello, my name is Chris and I’m a Star Wars fan. I saw Episode II (”Attack of the Clones”… I still don’t like the title that much) last night. Waited in line quite a while and had excellent seats. This movie was everything The Phantom... full entry
- The things we learn
- Theresa over at Making Light has put up an article about how to make… get this… “origami" tampons. No kidding. When you think about it, I suppose it’s a really good idea… assuming they work.. which I, of course, can’t test…
- Time for a dose of web development
- Several juicy articles out there and available for your reading pleasure. A List Apart is featuring an article about doing print versions with CSS. Evolt has an ongoing series of articles about building your own CMS. Currently parts 1, 2, and 3 are up and... full entry
- Waking Early and Verisign
- Had to wake up at the crack of dawn today (before 6am, at least—that’s early for me...) to go to my company’s “User Conference”. At least it got me out of the office for most of the day… In other news, I figured I’d help... full entry
- What happened to Wal-Mart?
- So, I used to be a fairly big fan of Wal-Mart—I’d shop there fairly often and it was always good to see a Wal-Mart store in an unfamiliar town. Heck, one of my good friends is even from Bentonville, the home of the Walton clan.... full entry
- Look ma, customization!
- I found an article by David Gagne the other day about customizing your Movable Type blog. So, I went ahead and did so. See the icons below? Yep, that’d be the new thing.
- Ah… a virgin blog…
- Well, it appears that I now have my very own “blog” up and running. Yeah, yeah, I know: “So what?”, you say. Well, I figured this would be a good way for me to keep track of interesting things I learn while also letting me... full entry
