Are You Watching Battlestar?

What’s a “dessous model”?
At Chris’s bidding, I began watching this series. I just finished the miniseries last night, and am beginning season one today. I’m very impressed, and enjoying it thoroughly.
Oh, and FastJack, if you like the hand-held in outer space look, you should know that the great Joss Whedon pioneered this on the lost-on-Fox tv series “Firefly”, which Universal Studios has wisely signed as a movie after Fox nipped it: Serenity. BSG seems to have also taken another page from Joss and they have severely turned the volume down in space. Firefly uses actual silence, as it would be in outer space, but BSG is significantly muted compared to other sci-fi works. It’s a trend that I’m glad to see take hold.
I hear that Universal is going to be airing Firefly, in its entirety and in the right order, too, on the Sci-Fi channel, so keep your eyes peeled for it.
But BSG joins the ranks of Firefly in my esteem: It’s been a long time since a space sci-fi series has captured my attention to this degree. At least a decade.
Uhm, sorry “dessous model” is probably a bad translation on my side. Lets just say that Tricia Helfer is (was?) a Victoria’s Secrets model.
I’ve been checking it out Chris. I love that show and its rapidly becoming one of my favorite TV shows. The season premiere was rocking and really left me all pumped up for whats going to happen next. Funny enough I’m especially wondering whats going to happen to Helo on Caprica and why.
Thanks for all the help you’ve been giving me with ExpressionEngine on the EE forums. -Jerry
I love the new Battlestar Galactica. When I watched the pilot over a year ago I was praying they would make the mini series into a full-blown series. My prayers have been heard.
There’s everything in it. Action, drama, suspense and even sex (hell, more series should have dessous models playing androids). I also like that special kind of camera work during the battles. Like a hasty camera man zooming way too quick and thereby almost losing its target and then panning quickly to get the target back into the center of the screen. This creates a sort of low-tech atmosphere. Very cool!
Recently there seems to be a trend to remake old TV series. Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who (not strictly a remake), Kojak. I wonder when they will redo Buck Rogers (Erin Grey was hot!) or other 70s and 80s series.
