This is a very nifty tool. Slow as molasses, but it’s incredibly accurate. Well at least I think it’s incredibly accurate.
Music Plasma is a visual music search engine. You tell it one of your favorite artists, and then it draws on a (very slow) map, all kinds of other artists, connected and such. Your artist is surrounded by a sphere, and any artist within that sphere, the site claims, you’ll love. I only found one exception to the few that I tried. The artists within that sphere can be from different types of music (might recommend a jazz artist even though your favorite is metal), or different eras.
Seems like a great way to find a new artist without having to stomach Clear Channel Radio to hear something new.
