Hippy Pappy New Something

Well, as the first post of 2004, I offer the following:

No new Homestar Runner for over two weeks.

Michael Jackson in the news WAY too often.

War in Iraq already being forgotten, and oh yeah, there’re still troops in Afghanistan.  You know, that “other” unfinished war?

Snipers were in place in Times Square.  Lemme repeat that, because it’s not a video game.  Trained sharpshooters were in place on roofs of buildings, scanning crowds through scopes, looking for a target to de-brain.  Oh yeah, this makes two years in a row.

Mad Cow Disease has landed on U.S. soil.  Well, it’s been discovered at least.  Who knows how long it’s been here.

NASA blames the Discover tragedy on Microsoft PowerPoint software.

I submit these evidences that the world has about 2 years to live.

In all seriousness, I plan on conglomerating significant events from 2003 and summarizing here.  In the meantime, I’m going to cheat, spit out these snippets, and use marvelous technology to make sure that I’m the first post of 2004 on chriscurtis.org.

That’s the best thing I’ve heard all year.

And don’t you dare say it.

And a happy new year to you too, Christopher. Glad to see you’re in good spirits:cool:

/waits eagerly for an obligatory “...good spirits” comeback from anyone.

Happy New Year!  May blessings and prosperity ensue.

Firstly, Jacko is only in the news so often because it’s big ratings. To say nothing of sexually abused children.
Secondly, I do not know ‘who’ has forgotten Iraq or Afghanistan. If you mean the press, I might agree, although I don’t take cues from them and think about our troops and the peoples of those countries everyday.
Third, friendly snipers on rooftops are better than Malvo in the trunk of his car.
Fourthly, mad cows disease is probably a bigger problem than we think, although in 17 years, Great Britain has lost something less than 200 people from it. Again it is big ratings.
Fifth, NASA needs to go back to the drawing board. Maybe they can start by writing software more suited to thier own needs. Tangware?
I predict that Microsoft will be vindicated by offering the first starship A.I. operating system.

Hish?  Who are you talking to?

Not again!!! The last time I did this foul up, people lost limbs. Dratted PERCEPTION attribute.
