For this website, that is. This current design is “okay” and it’s served its purpose, but I really feel it’s time for something new. This, of course, should coincide with porting the site over to run on :ExpressionEngine:. So, that’s good and all, but there’s a problem.
I suck at design.
No, really. I can code fine—:PHP:, :XHTML:, :CSS:, whatever—but my design sense is, well, pretty dead. I want something fresh and unique. Something with some life in it, unlike this fairly boring design I’ve got now. But I don’t think I can do that by myself. So, I thought I’d reach out to the community and ask for some help on doing a redesign.
Do you have some ideas for me? Suggestions? Heck, if you’ve got some time and ideas then I’d absolutely love a mockup in Photoshop or something. Really, any help anyone would like to give on this would be greatly appreciated.
There’s no particular timescale here, either. Sometime over the next few weeks I’ll hopefully start working on things, but I don’t have anything concrete set out. So, share your thoughts with me, oh community! Pour out your imagination and creativity! Show me what a real designer can do! [grin]
