WINE. I’m ready to see a Sourceforge project, or any movement of geektypes to buy a Mintelac and start a WINE-type layer project for OS X.
The need for Virtual PC would obviously be eliminated, and from the success of the movement on Linux, implementation of the Windows API should be relatively straightforward on the new Macs. No longer would the complaint be valid that you don’t have gaming options on a Mac. Of course, I’m certain that developers will be more inclined to release Mac versions of their games, and simultaneously, since their processor-specific code will no longer be an issue. But you get the idea. Your favorite text editor is only available for Windows? No problemo, and no emulation required. Just a small footprint API layer.
