Icons Galore!

Dan Cederholm (of SimpleBits) has created a set of stock icons he’s dubbing Stockholm (stock + Cederholm).  Very, very pretty.  If I ever get around to redesigning this site I may well have to get a copy from him.

In the comments, someone posted a link to some other icon sets that might be useful, too.

I’ve really got respect for people who can create sets like these.  I always thought that creating an icon couldn’t be that hard but if you ever give it a try you’ll know just how difficult it really is to make one that looks good! [grin]

I do enjoy a nice set of icons. Especially when they are for making a web page a little nicer, and a little simpler.

The only problem I do have with this is that i could recreate those in Illustrator and Photoshop in about two hours. Which , in my opinion, doest quantify a $45 charge for myself. However this might be nice for someone who needs the icons, can’t create them and has the cash to spare.

One thing i would suggest to the owner of the site would be to put those icon images all in a low res gif or jpg for the preview, rather than actual size, as someone who really wanted to, could screen capture and cut out the icons for free.
