It’s Official
I have a team. The recent trade of Nikolai Khabibulin to the team (my favorite goalie since Patrick Roy retired (pronounced “Wah”, Chris)) helped clinch the Chicago Blackhawks as “my team”.
There were other factors, of course. Being able to see “my team” play live was important, and there are 4 games each at St. Louis and Nashville, both of which are 2 1/2 hours away. And Chicago is 7 hours, so if I really wanted to go see a home game, I could. They’re seated in the state in which I live, of course, Illinois, so I am essentially rooting for the closest thing I have to a home team. The logo and jerseys are cool. Oh, and they also have HawkCast, a daily Podcast for Hawks fans. Sold!
