“Mothball the Airlines”
I love how the major airlines all cried wolf and claimed that 9/11 is what’s forced them to lose money and (for many of them) file for bankruptcy. They completely gloss over the fact that they’ve been losing money for years and just try to use the 9/11 tragedy as a convenient scapegoat.
Well, I’m with John Bloom when he says that it’s the airlines’ fault they’re in their current financial situation. Obviously, it’s quite possible to run an airline that makes money—you only need to look to the incredibly successful Southwest or the newer JetBlue. Start taking notes America, Delta, United, etc.
