Mozilla Takes Off On Its Own

That post about the Browser Wars yesterday now seems rather prescient… Word comes in now that Mozilla and :AOL: have officially broken ties.  Mozilla has now established the Mozilla Foundation, which will be more of a coordinating body for the development of the Mozilla platform.

While AOL no longer has paid employees working on Mozilla, it is donating $2 million to the Mozilla Foundation, a move which seems at odds with the general throught that the break with Mozilla and the layoff of nearly 60 Netscape employees was tied with the recent civil anti-trust settlement with Microsoft.

Netscape itself seems as if it’s being left on the wayside, but Mozilla appears to be ramping itself up to try and break more into the mainstream and not just the “geeky” tech circles.

I’m just excited that you used the word prescient.

I’m just excited that he spelled it right!

Yeah, I amaze even myself sometimes.  I can also use other “big” words like veracity and ubiquitous correctly.  Mostly.

I think the most descriptive word/phrase for our environment at work right now, though, is simply insanely busy.
