Now I’ve Done it…
Oh dear… what have I done now? Yesterday afternoon I took the plunge and ordered a :DVD: writer. An Optorite DD0203, to be specific. It’s a “multi-format” drive, which means that it can write to -R, -RW, +R, and +RW DVDs as well as regular :CD:-R and CD-RWs. According to CDR-Info, this writer works great with pretty much everything except a few copy-protected format. Which means, I suppose, that it isn’t the best drive if you plan to pirate lots of DVDs or Console game.
I’ve been following the whole DVD writer thing for a while now and decided that if I was going to get something it would have to be a multi-format drive since the “format wars” still haven’t been resolved. The AnandTech Hot Deals Forum had a really good deal on what seems to be a solid drive so I decided to bite. Now, though, I’m asking myself what exactly I’m going to do with it! Well, besides being able to fit 4.7:GB: of pr0n on a single disc, of course.

Wow! $120?? I need that, plus one a dees guys to finish off my movie studio on my older iMac. It doesn’t have the slick superdrive that the newer ones have.
Did I mention....no I didn’t..I better make a new post for that.
