Number Portability
November 24, the date on which number portability—the ability to keep your phone number if you change phone carriers—is set to be required. Unfortunately, the phone companies are back at it again and trying to get yet another delay on this action. This is after already delaying it for several years.
Consumer’s Union, who publish the excellent Consumer Reports magazine/site, has a new Escape Cell Hell site up. Go there and let your congressmen and senators know that you want to make sure number portability is implemented and enforced.
