Oh, look… a new entry!

Yeah, I guess this is a new entry, but it really doesn’t count.  I was just feeling really bad about having gone almost a month without posting something.  So, I figured I’d ramble on for a couple of minutes and submit it then I’d feel like I accomplished something!

So, first I was out of town last month for almost a week.  Then, almost as soon as I got back I learned that we were going to be moving out of our apartment and into a house that my roommate bought.  Getting into a house is cool; having to actually move all my stuff is most decidedly not cool!  Well, we got moved, though I’m not all unpacked yet.  My room’s a little smaller which isn’t a big deal, but I have a lot less storage space.  Problem with that is that I have a lot of crap.  It’s loads of fun going through everything and seeing what I can throw away/give to Goodwill.

The other thing is that we still don’t have internet access.  Supposedly the cable company’s supposed to come install it on Wednesday, and that’s not soon enough in the slightest.  Inability to surf and check email isn’t too bad, but since I basically have to have internet access to do my job, this lack of it is just a wee bit annoying.  I’ve been having to lug my laptop around with me and find a free wireless location for a couple of hours work each day.  Oh so much fun.

Enough rambling.  I’ll be back with a cool link or something once we actually get ‘net access at the house.

Wow dude, that totally sucks!  Are these, uh..."legal" hotspots that you’re finding, or are you just driving around in your truck until you get a hit, and then parking? rasberry

I know your pain of no internet. When i got to this apartment, i couldn’t get it for a week.

LOL! It’s legitimate access.  One of the local sandwich chains here has free wireless.  Also found a pub not too far away that does, too.  Today, I just went to visit my parents and leech access from them, though this dial-up is just a bit slower than I’m used to.

As for moving out… my roommate had been trying to get the house for about a month or so, we just didn’t know if it was going to go through in time for us to move in before our lease was up.  If it hadn’t come through we likely would have just renewed the lease.  I would have been happy doing that, frankly, since it would have meant no need to move! [grin]

Still a few more days until cable’s supposed to be installed, so I guess I’ll have to go find some other free wireless spots.
