Ok, you’ve got three months to cool off

That’s what workers at the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab will say to a two-story centifugal furnace full of molten glass after it finishes making the 27-foot mirrors for the Magellan telescope, otherwise known as “teh largest eye bulb telescope evar”.

That’s some hot glass!
