Patenting Life
Apparently some biotech companies are trying to skirt around the issue of being able to patent DNA sequences. Instead, they encode the sequences as MP3s, which are covered by copyright laws for 95 years.
Personally, I think it stinks. It does, however, give a whole new meaning to having “music in your blood”. (link via BoingBoing)
