Serenity, Legoized

Very, very cool.
It might interest you to know that a Serenity RPG book was released at GenCon 2005. It’s put out by ’Margaret Weis Productions’ (formerly Sovereign Press) and written by Jamie Chambers. I picked up the book (as did Derek); it’s a custom game system that looks to be pretty decent at first glance. At the very least, it has some great shots from the series and upcoming movie.
It is indeed cool, but I believe our buddy Deck needs a go at it. The “butt” of the ship seems terribly wrong. Probably just coloring, but Deck has a way of finding a slew of the right colored pieces.
The shuttles are definitely a nice touch and well done.
I showed it to Chris Deck earlier today but his first reaction was, “Uh, Serenity? What’s that?” Then, his second reaction was, “Uh, Firefly? What’s that?” And so forth and so forth. His re-education will be swift and relentless.
I am currently undergoing indoctrination myself, having been brow-beaten into checking out Firelfy by Chris and others at GenCon.
And I concur… it is good.
Very very F’n good!
Just as I feared, too… as I must now spend many hours and dollars getting caught up. Ah well, at least it’s for a good cause.
(Next up, Battlestar Galactica… *sigh*
)
Oh, and uh, yeah… pretty cool Lego Firefly there!
Oh.
My.
Wing Ya!
Awesome!
brem (aka proxima centauri)
I have no idea what Firefly is. All i know is that i am a little turned of by Serenity’s use of the papyrus font. COME ON! You can do better than a stock friggin’ font.
Don’t… know… Firefly?!?! Okay, that’s it, Greg. You’re grounded and in “time out”. Go sit in the corner until you buy/rent/borrow a copy of the DVDs and watch them.
For shame!
I’ve told Greg about it 500 billionty times. And I know the ligatures are very similar, Greggo, but that’s not the Papyrus font. Type it out and you’ll see. But, let’s assume that instead they did use the Papyrus font. This is the one commercial use of it that would actually fit. Asian-esque old beat up western type. That essentially describes the show.
Curse you all! After renting Disk One, I was forced… *FORCED* I say, to purchase the boxed set.
I love Firefly! :D
No power in the ‘verse can stop it.
Crap, now I suppose i will have to rent it if i get any money.
This is awesome! I wonder where people come up with this much time on thier hands?
Personally, i would like to see Orthanc in Legos.
