Subways of the World
The size of varying cities’ subway systems really isn’t particularly important in the greater scheme of things. Or even the lesser scheme. But darned if it isn’t really interesting! Fake is the New Real has up a page (which looks to be expanding in the future) that has scale maps of a number of the subway systems from around the world.
Moscow’s is impressive simply due to its obviously well-planned nature, but what really gets me (and I guess it shouldn’t) is New York’s: with a scale of 1 mile = 2 pixels, the New York subway system spans over 125 miles from end to end!!
