The Online Music Entry

Today, we’ll be talking about online music, kids.  Or, at least, music that you download from the internet and other things associated with it.  First up, we have Apple’s iTunes service, which was just released for Windows users.  Yep, now us Windows lusers can get in on all the fun you Mac-heads have been experiencing.  Happy day!

Second, you can find out how the unimaginably stupid :RIAA: is following in Edison’s footsteps.  According to at least George Ziemann, the RIAA is making virtually all the same mistakes that Edison and his MPPC made nearly a century ago.  Morons.

So....how is iTunes for Windows?  I’m sure it’s identical, so I’m happy to share some tips and gems.  Primarily, I’m hoping that the Smart features are all there, as well as all of the drag and drop capabilities, but I’m not sure if those are exclusive to the operating system or actually a part of iTunes.

And regarding the :RIAA: ...I can’t wait for Step 8.

Oooh!  I didn’t notice as I hadn’t been there in quite a few weeks, but the music store has gift certificates now...sweet.

Haven’t had a chance to do more than just glance at a couple of pages.  I was kind of surprised at the real lack of attention on the ‘net today about the iTunes launch.  I think it was today, at least… Had to have been today or yesterday. [shrug]

I’ve got too many things to do right now to mess with iTunes yet.  I still haven’t even installed the new video capture card I got, much less tried to burn a :DVD:.  Too much to do, too little time.

Amen to that, brutha (lack of time).  I hadn’t even realized that Matrix Revolutions came out Tuesday.  So I’ma grab a Hefe-Weisen and watch it now.

Heh.  Yeah, I bought that Tuesday when I got my capture card.  The movie hasn’t been unwrapped and it’s still sitting on the coffee table. [grin]

Maybe I’ll magically have time this weekend to do everything?

What kind of capture card did you get? i got an Msi tv@nywhere and i LOVE it… it works really well. I need a DVD burner now...but im to the point that i refuse to buy ANY burner except for a Plextor. Ive had a 16x for three years and ive burnt about 8-10 cds a week on it… so figure over 1000 cds burnt. Still works great, still fast, and it still makes perfect back-ups of most software. To bad it costs a little more for the good stuff. Sexy Plexys are still $250 for a dvd+r 4x. :/ worth the money....that I don’t have hehe. ~Greg

The card Chris got is this one. wink

Haa haaa, ooohhh, heee heeeeeee *wipes tears from eyes*
