The Writhing Smelly Masses
Well, I did it. I went to the mall today. I don’t know exactly why I subject myself to it every year--I mean, I don’t even celebrate Christmas, so it’s not like I’m trying to play my part in the holiday shopping game. I guess it goes back to the 7 years of my life that were spent in retail, mostly at Babbage’s (now GameStop). Every year since I’ve been gone, I find myself at home, bored, and end up going to the mall--mainly to see the old gang in their chaotic glory.
At any rate, it turned out to be a good trip--they were having a really cool trade in deal. For every three games you traded in, they gave you an extra $10. Then, they had a buy 2 used get 1 free deal going too. So I ended up with the following:
Traded In: Animal Crossing, Mario Golf, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Bomberman Generations, Rogue Leader, Tetris Worlds, Knights of the Old Republic, Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced, and some Legend of Zelda bonus disc thingy.
Purchased: Prince of Persia, Soul Calibur II, Crimson Skies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds, Metal Gear Solid: Substance, and some Super Bubble Pop game thingy.
I still have $14.50 left in trade-in credit, so I’d say I made out like a bandit, considering most of the games I traded in are more than two years old.
