Your Personal Radio Station
Let’s assume you use iTunes to play and manage your digital music collection because, well, why wouldn’t you? So, since you’re using iTunes you can use all of its cool features like Smart Playlists. A post over at CodePoetry (yes, it’s a rather old post; sue me) suggests how you can go about using several Smart Playlists to make your own personal radio station. It’s a pretty clever setup that allows the “station” to provide a mix of newly added music and older music that you rated highly, all while keeping the playlist fresh.
Since I haven’t completed rating my entire collection yet, I modified my own playlists a bit from those suggested to also include some of the unrated titles so they’ll be interspersed in the mix and I can continue rating them. There are some good points and suggestions in the comments, do I’d recommend reading through them, too.
